The Global Patient Alliance for Kidney Health envisions health care systems that treat chronic kidney disease as a public health priority. By ensuring at-risk patients can access comprehensive screening and early treatment, disease progression can be slowed, and mortality prevented.

The Urgency to Act

Chronic kidney disease affects 1 in 10 people worldwide. Many lack access to proper treatment, contributing to 19 million deaths each year. The need for timely access to early screening and treatment is greater than ever.

Mission

Chronic kidney disease is a burdensome, prevalent condition that exacts a growing toll on patients, health care systems, the environment and governments worldwide. The Global Patient Alliance for Kidney Health brings together patient advocacy organizations from across the globe to raise awareness and improve access to early detection and treatment.

Goals

Elevate awareness about the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment of chronic kidney disease in global and regional policy forums

Engage with policymakers at the World Health Organization to prioritize policies that enhance access to screening and early-stage treatment of chronic kidney disease

Support advocates at the national level who seek to inform national policymakers about the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment for patients with chronic kidney disease
